About

Behavior Bridges has been in operation since 2015.  We are dedicated to helping individuals overcome obstacles together.  Our mission is to provide effective, quality behavioral and educational services across the lifespan; to serve individuals with dignity and integrity; and to collaborate with families and teams to create lasting positive change.

At Behavior Bridges, we believe that all individuals have the ability to reach their highest potential.  Through collaboration we use evidence based principles and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to overcome obstacles together.  We are committed to providing treatments that are individualized toward independent, measurable and positive change.

We value each member of the team, as each is equally vital to the success of the individual.  Lasting change occurs when we work together.

Detailed Milestones

Behavior Bridges provides quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training, consultation and direct therapy services.  Through collaboration we use evidence based principles and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to overcome obstacles together.  We are committed to providing treatments that are individualized toward independent, measurable and positive change.

2015- Behavior Bridges opens, providing ABA services for families in and around South Hill/Puyallup.

Behavior Bridges started in 2015 in response to a need for quality ABA programming across the lifespan.  Beginning from humble grounds serving home based families, Behavior Bridges sought to support this grossly underserved community in home based ABA for children, but also add services to the community including family training, supporting individuals in crisis and adults seeking support.

2016- Behavior Bridges offers training and consultation to agencies across the state, expanding services across the lifespan.

In 2016, Behavior Bridges began providing local and statewide training in positive behavior support and effective interventions for challenging behaviors in partnership with DDA, Pierce County, Service Alternatives, and local supported employment agencies in an effort to provide preventative and crisis interventions across the lifespan.

2017- School district consultation and training services become available through Behavior Bridges.

Behavior Bridges created a unique school district consultation model focused on empowering and strengthening existing school systems through collaboration new for area school districts. This new model was extremely successful and cost-efficient. Behavior Bridges has continued this work and to date has partnered with over 6 school districts and one private school throughout the nation.  Through supporting ongoing program development, staff training, individual or small group student support, and consultation on crisis prevention, Behavior Bridges is proud to partner with schools in our joint effort to help all students achieve their potential.

2018- Behavior Bridges is identified as a pilot and awarded the first ever Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Small Business Accreditation.

While continuing to provide services with dignity and integrity, Behavior Bridges has intentionally grown slowly, now employing over 10 staff.  With our highly trained staff and increased supervision model which enhances team collaboration, we have been able to expand thoughtfully to serve more families without high turnover or interruptions in services (even through the pandemic).  Both family and staff satisfaction were awarded highest quality in the nation in 2018 by the Behavior Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) in a pilot accreditation for small agencies.

2019- Behavior Bridges applies and is awarded the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence 3-year Full Accreditation, the highest achievement in quality.

In 2019, Behavior Bridges was awarded the highest achievement in quality and services through full BHCOE accreditation with one of the highest scores in the nation of 98%.  A BHCOE Accredited ® Organization is an applied behavior analysis provider that has demonstrated it has met and continues to meet an assortment of clinical and administrative standards as determined by an independent third-party evaluator. Behavior Bridges continues to provide that same level of quality for each and every person we interact with.

2020- Center based programming opens in South Hill, WA.

In 2020, amidst the loom of pandemic, Behavior Bridges continued their mission to serve families by opening center based programming and expanding to provide Safety-Care® Crisis Prevention Training for staff and families.  Come visit us behind the Dairy Queen!

2021- Safety-Care® Crisis Prevention Training offered for staff and families.

In 2022, Behavior Bridges was chosen by Pierce County to support Behavioral Health in the community through a new project, Preventing Behavioral Health Crises for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.  This new programming, fully funded at no cost to the public, aims to provide various social groups for ages 8 through adulthood and preventative behavior crisis training for families of any age to further provide access to services for our community.    In partnership with additional local agencies, hospitals, and school districts, Behavior Bridges continues to strive to be a model for best practices.

2022- Pierce County Grant Funding.

Behavior Bridges was awarded funds through the Pierce County Behavioral Health Tax to provide preventative interventions for neurodiverse populations in order to curb the behavioral and mental health crisis in the county.  This work targets one of the most vulnerable and needed areas in this issue through providing free caregiver training, social groups and PEERS® programs for the community.

2023- Pierce County Grant Extension & GCDE Recognition.

In 2023, Behavior Bridges received a 2 year extension to continue their work in mental and behavioral health crisis prevention for neurodiversity populations.  Also, Behavior Bridges was recognized by the WA Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment for their work in disability employment.  Behavior Bridges also formally became a full member of the Council for Autism Service Providers (CASP), further ensuring best practices for all our programs, staff and participants.

Behavior Bridges is proud to provide quality services to our community with dignity and integrity.  Together, we can overcome obstacles and achieve our highest potential.  Thank you for your continued support!
